INFO FOR U.S. CUSTOMERS
Sunrise Mercantile is delighted to ship products to our neighbours in the U.S.A. However,
as some of you may know, the Food & Drug Administration (as one of the anti-terrorism measures
under the Homeland Security Act) has imposed special requirements for food shipments coming into the U.S.
Basically, all that is required is for us (SunMerc) to submit a request to the FDA PRIOR to shipping that
provides "Advance Notice" of our intention to ship food products into the U.S. There is no charge for this
paperwork, and it is usually a fairly efficient process, but it can add as much as two days to the process
of sending food shipments from Canada to the U.S. No problem on our end (truly!), as we fully support this
precaution in the war against terrorism. BUT U.S. recipients of our food products need to allow for extra
lead-time on ordering from us while we process the extra customs paperwork through the FDA. Because of the extra processing time for US orders we need to add a 10% handling fee for all state-side orders.
